Journeyman Level Students

Home / Chinese Kung-Fu / Journeyman Level Students

It usually takes 4-5 years for a Kung-Fu student to reach the first major milestone of their journey. Going from beginner to completion of our Apprentice Level is by no means an easy task. It requires patience, dedication, and a desire to keep acknowledging & overcoming ones' own problems. We at the UK Kung-Fu Federation are extremely proud of all our students, but especially those who have over many years demonstrated the true spirit of Kung-Fu, namely hard work & constant effort to acquire skills of good quality. These senior students are considered to have finished their apprenticeship in the art of Wing Tsun, and are recognised as serious students of the art. They are now studying the Journeyman Level, the second major leg of their personal journey.

Are TG's Instructors?

No. Completing the student programmes does not automatically qualify someone to teach them, or be held responsible for the development of another student. Not everyone has the desire or aptitude to teach, and we do not automatically expect our senior students to do so.

The UK Kung-Fu Federation has an extremely thorough Instructor Training Programme which is compulsory for all potential teachers. Teaching is a skill in itself, and although the best way to understand your own material is to pass it to another, there are right ways & wrong ways to do this. Our programmes ensure that anyone qualified as a Federation Instructor knows exactly what they are doing, and has our full support. All instructors are listed on our staff members page.

Some organisations advertise instructor training, but really teach very little. Many just want to expand their club network & get more income. Not us! Our training programme is comprehensive, in-depth, thorough, and covers all aspects of instructorship. Remember we are a non-profit organisation - our goal is quality above all.

Anyone wishing to find out more about the requirements for becoming a Federation Instructor should contact us for an informal chat.

However anyone wishing to have their photo on this page should simply keep training with a serious attitude. There are no short cuts...
