Our Chessington venue is now only used for some larger seminars & events. If you’re local to Chessington and want to study martial arts, where have you been? We ran classes in Kung-Fu & Escrima on your doorstep for almost a decade, from 2002 until 2010. Don’t worry though, due to our expansion & success, you now have access to well-established schools all around you in Kingston-Upon-Thames, Ewell, Hinchley Wood and Guildford, plus our HQ in New Malden too.

Club Facilities
This venue has seen many changes & improvements over the years. Initially quite run-down and basic, between 2007 & 2009 the sports centre had a £23M redevelopment, and now boasts some really good facilities. We often use the new dance studio, which has full-length mirrors, a sprung wooden floor, air-con, and a built-in sound-system. We also use the main sports hall, which has tons of space to swing weapons around, and a very grippy floor. The centre also has outdoor training areas, plus a great bar & cafe area to relax in, either before or after training.

Club History
Chessington is a Surrey town situated between Leatherhead and Kingston-Upon-Thames. It is well known for Chessington World Of Adventures, a family theme park operated by the Tussauds Group. The town has an excellent college-owned Sports Centre which was home to one of our martial arts schools for almost a decade.

In July 2002 Sifu Lee Paul Heron opened his third school here shortly after he chose to devote his professional career to the understanding & teaching of the martial arts. The club taught hundreds of students, hosted lots of workshops & seminars, and even produced several instructors right up until September 2010, when a reorganization of all our local clubs & schools made the venue better suited to larger seminars & events, instead of weekly General Classes.

Come & Join Us
Between July 2002 & September 2010, our Chessington club welcomed students from many surrounding towns including Oxshott, Leatherhead, Tolworth & Claygate, but now these areas are better served by our other local schools.

If you’re within reach and want to know more about real martial arts, come & give us a try for 4 weeks, completely FREE. You’ll find us friendly, relaxed, happy to share knowledge, and experts at what we do. Welcome to the UKKFF.

In-Class Escrima Workshop

On Thursday 8th March 2012, we will be running a special in-class Escrima Workshop at UKKFF Kingston-Upon-Thames.

This event will take place between 20.00 – 22.00 during the usual Thursday evening Escrima General Class, and is open to all members who are currently studying Escrima with us.

The workshop will be led by Instructor Wayne Tappin 3TG, and will focus upon giving more detail upon the core syllabus of the Escrima Concepts Weapons System in preparation for the end-of-term assessments a few weeks later (on 24th March).

There is a £10 charge per-person for this workshop, which will reimburse Wayne for his tuition, his petrol, and his time in driving the 250-mile round trip from Clacton to visit us.

This fee may be paid in cash on the evening, or ideally in advance via debit/credit card using our event pre-booking service, which will save us time on the day.

We look forward to seeing many of our Escrimadors along at Kingston for a good session with Wayne.
