Personal Fitness Training

Getting outside is an important part of health & fitness. Some training methods lend themselves to more enclosed spaces, but some work best in the open air.

Fitness training is the repetition of individual exercises and/or routines designed to develop the physical attributes of your body. These attributes are ALL developed through regular training in our martial arts, however many UKKFF members discover that their regular training uncovers a lack of ability in one or more of these attributes. Our instructors are able to help rectify this by creating a bespoke fitness training programme for any member.

The physical attributes of fitness that we can help develop are:

There are a great many training methods available to develop & improve the above attributes, and over the years our instructors have accumulated a large body of knowledge in this area. We are able to create bespoke fitness programmes for any UKKFF member which draw upon some, or all of the following methods:

Although our preference is always upon own-bodyweight or partner training, we also have expertise in using many different pieces of fitness equipment. These include free weights, resistance elastics, medicine balls, kettlebells, clubbells, swiss balls, and poles. Plus all the many types of martial arts training equipment, of course.

A single session or entire programme of personal, or small-group fitness training is available to all UKKFF members via private tuition.

In-Class Escrima Workshop

On Thursday 8th March 2012, we will be running a special in-class Escrima Workshop at UKKFF Kingston-Upon-Thames.

This event will take place between 20.00 – 22.00 during the usual Thursday evening Escrima General Class, and is open to all members who are currently studying Escrima with us.

The workshop will be led by Instructor Wayne Tappin 3TG, and will focus upon giving more detail upon the core syllabus of the Escrima Concepts Weapons System in preparation for the end-of-term assessments a few weeks later (on 24th March).

There is a £10 charge per-person for this workshop, which will reimburse Wayne for his tuition, his petrol, and his time in driving the 250-mile round trip from Clacton to visit us.

This fee may be paid in cash on the evening, or ideally in advance via debit/credit card using our event pre-booking service, which will save us time on the day.

We look forward to seeing many of our Escrimadors along at Kingston for a good session with Wayne.
