Martial Arts Forums & Member ResourcesEvery member of the UK Kung-Fu Federation should register themselves & create a free account on our forums. If you've not done so yet, this page tells you more about it.

Why Should I Register & Create An Account?

Because you'll miss out on a lot of free information if you don't.

We created our member resources to help our students learn more about their chosen martial arts. Besides the usual discussion forums which allow students to chat to each other about their training, you'll find areas for each of our disciplines which contain free downloadable information for each stage of your training. Each step up through our grading structure unlocks more information for you to use.

We can set the level of access for each student, so when you move up to the next stage of your art we'll update your privileges and you can download the next set of training notes. All free of charge.

We also use everyone's profile as a database for communication. For instance sending group emails to all students when seminars or workshops are announced. Register & keep your profile up-to-date and you'll always be kept informed.

Don't Fall Into The Traps!

We love our members to chat on the forums about their training, but some people overstep the mark and start insulting other people or other arts. Don't fall into the traps! So many online communities have great intentions but get spoiled by the actions of a few users. This common situation occurs when the subject is something people feel strongly about, or are personally involved with, or contains more than one means to an end.

The martial arts are but one example of all the above conditions. Participants love them & train hard on a regular basis, and there are many schools of thought so naturally everyone thinks their way (or their instructors way) is great. To use an analogy; you'll never persuade a hardcore Hells-Angel-style biker to ride a tiny 125cc two-stroke race-replica even though it may be quicker and turn faster. It's just a different world, and we're all the richer for the diversity. There's a time & a place for both approaches.

Rather than adopting an interested, learning, sharing attitude towards other arts, the insecure forum user tries to prove their superiority in a fierce battle of keyboards - safe in the knowledge that their 'opponent' is nowhere near them. Problems can also multipy when users hide behind pseudonyms rather than revealing their true identity.

All forum problems are rooted in fear & ego, which are things all true martial artists are striving to overcome. If someone disagrees with you, why not pause and consider their position before lashing out? Much good can come of quality debate, and when the dust settles you may have found another training partner, kindred spirit or just a friend.
