UKKFF Summer Camp 2013

Featured

It’s summer camp time again, and all UKKFF members are warmly invited to take part in this year’s special event. We hope you can join Sifu Lee Paul Heron and many of the instructors for a long weekend of back-to-basics camping and quality martial arts training in the heart of Hampshire’s beautiful New Forest.

UKKFF Summer Camp 2013

Come and join us for a long weekend of Kung-Fu, Escrima, Health, Fitness, and back-to-basics camping in the beautiful New Forest.

This year’s event runs between Friday 5th – Monday 8th July 2013, and is intended to be a relaxed camping trip with the added bonus of quality martial arts training. Bring your own tent, bring your own food & drink, and participate as much (or as little) as you like in the training sessions, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of one the New Forest’s most popular campsites.

You can come for one night, two nights, or the whole long weekend. You can share a tent with a colleague or have a whole pitch to yourself. You can bring your partner, children and dogs too, and as training fees are separated from the pitch fees they’ll only have to pay for the pitch. You can do one, two, three, or all four of the training sessions as you wish. Basically you can bring who you want, train as you want, and relax as you want. Just come and have fun with us!

Dates & Times
Friday 5th – Monday 8th July 2013 (3 nights).
Arrival is anytime after 12 noon on Friday, and departure is by 12 noon on Monday. All training sessions will take place on the Saturday & Sunday.

Location
Roundhill Campsite
Beaulieu Road
Brockenhurst, New Forest
Hampshire SO42 7QL
Site Tel: 01590 624 344

Onsite Facilities
Roundhill has hot showers, washbasins & toilets, dishwashing areas, drinking water, and ice-pack freezing facilities. We will be camping on standard grassy pitches with no electricity, so remember your in-car chargers, batteries or wind-up torches. Click for full details of Roundhill Campsite.

Pitch Prices
One standard pitch price allows for one tent, two adults, a pup-tent for a child, and dogs. A tent containing four adults would require two pitches. Please let us know if you intend to bring children/dogs.

  • Pitch Only (1 Night) = £25
  • Pitch Only (2 Nights) = £50
  • Pitch Only (3 Nights) = £60

Training Prices
There is one set fee for training, which is payable regardless of whether you attend one session, or all four sessions. There will be two sessions each on Saturday & Sunday, one in the morning at 10am, and the other late afternoon at 3.30pm. Each session will be 2.5 hours in duration, making a total of ten hours tuition on offer.

  • Training = £40

If you are sharing tents with a training colleague, one of you should pay for the Pitch + Training, and the other only need to pay for training. Please note we require ALL payment in advance, as we don’t want to be keeping lots of cash payments in an unsecured tent!

New Venue For Epsom & Ewell

As of April 2013, the UKKFF martial arts club in Epsom & Ewell is changing venues. We will now be training in the Dining Hall of Danetree Junior School.

For the last five years, the club has been active and successful at the previous venue. However due to a lack of investment in their facilities, we felt the training space and overall environment was becoming less than ideal for our members.

The decision was made to relocate to a nearby larger space with better parking & better outdoor facilities, which may also provide opportunities for Escrima to be offered at Ewell in the future too, complimenting members existing abilities in our Kung-Fu system. The new venue also has the potential to be used for some of our larger seminars & events too.

Updated details can be found on the UKKFF Epsom & Ewell main club page.

Congratulations to our instructor Andrew King on this positive change and the development of this, his original club. We look forward to seeing a lot more members hailing from the Epsom & Ewell area in the future.

New Venue/Day For Streatham

As of April 2013, the UKKFF martial arts club in Streatham is changing venues. We will now be training in the Main Hall of the Streatham Youth & Community Trust (SYCT).

This move is due to rapid growth since the club opened six months ago. We now require more space to cater for the existing membership and the growing level of interest we are experiencing from the local community. The larger space may also provide opportunities for Escrima to be offered at Streatham in the future too, which will compliment members existing abilities in our Kung-Fu system.

In addition, the club will now meet on Wednesdays each week, instead of Mondays. This change of training day means that our Streatham venue will no longer be affected by Bank Holiday closures.

Updated details can be found on the UKKFF Streatham main club page.

Congratulations to our instructor Jason Potter on these positive changes and the expansion of his club. We look forward to seeing a lot more members hailing from the Streatham club in the future.
